Blog Post: Poem from a thankful father

1-1-2026

This poem was presented to me after caring for his child…..

Most of us dream of ambitions for self

For money, vacations, or conquest

But seldom are those that silent ponder

Of rare service that aid the rest

Of people who require skills they cannot fathom

The ones rendered helpless to the unexpected

Mothers, caretakers, and family innumerable

Their languish, a master needs erected

To the younglings whose bodies forlorn

Babes burdened by their own bones

Commissioned to fear of their anatomy

Despair saddled to their souls as stones

How extraordinary is the healer

That witnesses the same amount as a loved one

And understands his life will become the work

Of ensuring the pain of which, is undone

Deterred not by terror

Heart shrieks not in morbidity

Who sees possibility in problems

That only speak in rigidity

I’d try and express what I can

To a brave and kind human

Impossible, so I’ll say it plainly

Thank you, thank you Dr. Luhmann
